Title: 70N
Post by: pafan on June 16, 2006, 09:32:08 AM
I saw loaded coal train 70N at the Francisco (IN) mine on 6-13. I assume this was its origin point? If so, what is the destination (It headed west) and how often does it run?
Do they put the train together at Princeton and then head to the mine to load?

Trains 70N and 70T work between Francisco Mine and the PSI (Now Duke Energy) plant between Princeton and Mt Carmel. Both trains run daily, perhaps multiple times a day.
You are correct that it originates at Francisco Mine, and it terminates at PSI. Typically it goes in through the east side of PSI and exits out the back and continues west across the Wabash and over to Mt Carmel yard.
There is also a train 70A that pulls out of the AWW yard in Oakland City and goes west to PSI. I believe this one is brought to AWW by Indiana Southern.

I've got several pics of the 70N and 70T posted on webshots.
