Title: 171 territory signs?
Post by: D300 on June 04, 2012, 07:37:04 PM
When did NS start using these signs I have recently seen on TWC territory that state begin and end -- 171? I thought most territories had signs that said begin and end TWC. Now it had been a while since I last fanned TWC territory, and my local districts are all CTC so this might have been going on longer than I realized but thought I would see if this if a recent thing?

About 3 or 4 years ago. They revamped the grey rr bible and did away with Track Warrent's and 23A forms and replaced them with Track Authority forms.

So you are saying since TWCs are not technically a TA they had to change the sign to do away with the TWC language?

No, some lines still have TWC signs.  I've actually never seen the 171 signs.

What I have seen of the Virginia Division has the 171/271 signs.
