For a while now we have been in a solar minimum (time when there is little sun spot/ solar flare activity. A couple weeks ago there was a solar flare that has been treating the poles to an aurora show as of late. Over the past several days a sun spot the size of the earth has formed and is growing rapidly. If it does it could lead to a solar flare over the next few days. Typically it creates lots of problems for radio in general. Sometimes after the flares are over you can also get signals you normally wouldn't get. Might be worth keeping an eye on.
