my summer vacation wrapped up a week ago today and man, did it fly by quickly!

Day #1 was fairly simple- capturing NS H06 at sunset on the Corning Secondary. This location called North Glass and is on the north side of Corning:

Got questions? I can help you with the Erie Lackawanna (including predecessors), Lehigh Valley, Delaware & Hudson and the shortlines of upstate NY.

The 2nd day was primarily a chase of the Bath & Hammondsport RR, including interchange with NS .

Ex-Erie Lackawanna C424ms leading the way at West Lamoka Road in Savona, NY... which is an ex-EL crossing:

The B&H was doing work on the track next to Dresser Rad in Painted Post. This was the 1st time I have ever seen a tamper get roated !

The tamper heads back to a spur, while the B&H local waits at Painted Post:

The B&H Alcos have detached from the consist are headin onto the wye at Painted Post so they can pick-up interchange traffic from NS:

A slidi show of my B&H chase and the NS yard at Gang Mills:

All photos in this post and the link were taken by me Monday 8/22/2016 in Steuben County, NY.  The MOW work did delay the B&H interchange a bit, so NS never came out to fetch the old consist. I left the area at 7:30 PM.

Day #3 was pure gold. I thought it was going to start out with more MOW in Sayre:

However, NS put the MOW critters back on the siding so their local and the Lehigh Railway could interchange. LHRY arrived first and I intercepted their local at north River Street in Athens:

After a quick drop-off, the LHRY local headed out. This location is the PA-199 bridge in Athens:

After chasing the Lehigh Railway, I headed back to Sayre to catch NS local H12 working the yard.

As seen from the former Lehigh Valley RR caboose:

Servicing the Union Tank Car facility in Sayre:

After switching in Sayre, NS h12 departed for Elmira. This location is the State Route 427 crossing in Ashland, NY:

All photos in this post and the link were taken by me Tuesday 8/23/2017 in Bradford County, PA and Chemung County, NY. That's a warp for my vacation shots. A special thanks goes out to the employees of the B&H and LHRY for their professionalism and friendliness. Saklut to the guys working NS H12, who also seem to know this long haired country boy now.
