My 3rd interception of the Erie unit
« on: August 16, 2016, 07:48:53 PM »
The old saying about "3rd time's the charm" is apparently true! After catching my favorite heritage unit twice as trailing power, i finally snagged NS #1068 leading a train just 15 minute drive from my house. the Eire unit was leading CSX K649:

This train was 9th in a parade of 11 trains I caught on CSX's Rochester Sub (ex-NYC/PC/CR) in a little over 3 hours. To view the rest of them, please visit my slide show:

All photos in this post and the link were taken by me Saturday 8/13/2016 in Fairport, NY.

A couple items of note:

1. I have seen the Erie unit more than any other NS heritage unit.
2. NS #1068 is the only heritage unit I have seen in 3 states- Pennsylvania (2013), Ohio (2015) and now NY.

Got questions? I can help you with the Erie Lackawanna (including predecessors), Lehigh Valley, Delaware & Hudson and the shortlines of upstate NY.

Thanx, guys! This day made up for a couple of misses when the Erie unit led NS 206 back during the spring.
