From what I understand, Hagerstown desk covers all of the Washington district  down to just north of Lynchburg. The tone-up is different and the voices are getting used to the territory. Not sure how far below Front Royal got taken.

The Harrisburg Division absorbed the Hagerstown District covering down to, but not including Shenandoah. Concerning the Washington District, it absorbed  the B-Line as well as Alexandria down to McIvor. I'm told that from McIvor down to Lynchburg is part of the Danville District now.

P97 is now K95, still Alexandria-Lynchburg
P98 is now K99, still Lynchburg-Alexandria

They've set up to work the yards, while other locals work the industries. Both K95 and K99 are overnight trains by design, but sometimes issues force one or both into daylight, including a daylight K95 in Manassas on Monday.

Also have heard K48 (once) and K86 (multiple times) used around here. K86 runs the same shift as K91, overnight.  K85 is indeed the old P51, and K87 is the old P52. Both are daytime symbols.

New auto rack trains as of this week: NS 28Q is Roanoka, IN to Buffalo, NY. NS 27W is buffalo, NY to Roanoke, IN.

Also, NS 26R (Toledo to Buffalo) and 27R (Buffalo to Toledo) are back on the schedule
Got questions? I can help you with the Erie Lackawanna (including predecessors), Lehigh Valley, Delaware & Hudson and the shortlines of upstate NY.

This is great!!!  Thanks whoever you are!

Does anyone know the route for P94, the Linwood-Winston-Salem turn?  Does it go thru Greensboro, or is there a track connection with the W-S Southbound north of Linwood?   And is WSS operated independently of NS?  I don't see any blocks or trains for them.
And finally, is merchandise traffic from Roanoke to W-S now handled by the Payne, VA, turns, or it added to the auto trains to and from Walkertown?

Thanks for any help!  Mark Keaton, Ann Arbor, MI

Another possibility for P94, the Linwood-Winston Salem turn: from Linwood south and west to Barber Jct, then north to W-S.  There must be some local business along this line.  What about the new furniture plant (Avoca ??) on the Barber-WS segment?

Thanks anyone!  Mark Keaton, Ann Arbor, MI

N50 thru N65  are eeast slope and west slope helpers on the Pit line.  At least 10 are used daily.  Sometimes C50 are used for similar functions if all N number series are used.

The thread above, about autorack trains 28Q and 27W . . . I know the Roanoke, Indiana "end" starts and ends at the Fort Wayne (Chevy truck) assembly plant out this way.

http://media.gm.com/media/us/en/gm/company_info/facilities/assembly/ftw.html

What's at the Buffalo, NY end of the route?  Is that just the classification or staging facility for moving vehicles further eastbound, or what(?).

Just curious, RDS

The K46 local, former V86, out of Shenandoah to Hagerstown and back, has been annulled. K47, former V88, now originates in Hagerstown, runs to Front Royal and back. Performing all of the local swiarching in between. The train rarely makes it back to Hagerstown without a re-crew.

Dont know if 24A runs anymore. I have never heard that symbol before.

I was in Harriman back in April '17, and 24A ran as the NB counterpart to 23G

22A is the counterpart to 23G, not 24A

NS 24A is as needed racks from Roanoke, VA to Petersburg, VA. The train drops the racks at Poe (Crescent Auto Facility) and then runs light to Norfolk, it is a very rare move.

NS 169 now runs from Conway, PA to Sharonville, OH, and the power returns to Conway on 170. Also, NS 179 is now running from Bellevue, OH to Birmingham, AL. Additionally, NS 164 and NS 367 have been abolished.

K46 has been brought back. I believe he originates in Shenandoah, but does not go to Hagerstown as it did before.. K47 originates in Front Royal now instead of Hagerstown and works the industries in town. During its time running out of Vardo, it never once made it back without a recrew.

K47, at least yesterday's version, started down in Shenandoah. It got held up at Warren when. 214, 12R and 16T were all backed up from 290's incident at Berryville.  16T had been on the siding where K47 needed to do its work.

Believe I have heard a K96 used for the Vardo yard job.

Slightly unrelated: does 15T work Waynesboro yard? Happened upon a 70 car manifest setting out 13 cars there one Saturday back March.

K9A, K8X have been used as Saturday Rock extras replicating K90 and K88 respectively.
