NS 239 with Canadian Pacific 8849. Mile post 286 Norfolk Southern Louisville District. (Westbound to St. Louis)

About 10 minutes after the train came through the sun came out.

Also after this one went West about 30 minutes later a mixed junker freight with 5 engines headed East. The middle unit was a Conrail Quality but I did not get an engine number. NS 9305 was leading.

Thanks for the heads up on this today too, Adam and E.M., both of you guys.

"The engineer in the old high cab his gold watch in his hand, looking at the waterglass and letting down the sand, rolling out on the old main line taking up the slack, gone today so they say but tomorrow he'll be back...."

Thanks, again.

As much as I like the NS a little color mixed in with the black parade is nice and this was my first time seeing a Canadian Pacific in person.

Nice catch, Ed! Me likey the CP "Red Barns" on NS 'cause they're a splash of color. NS and CP use them on the jointly run 38T and 39T trains here in upstate NY.
Got questions? I can help you with the Erie Lackawanna (including predecessors), Lehigh Valley, Delaware & Hudson and the shortlines of upstate NY.
