Typically limestone, with some quartz and other junk mixed in.

Eric

Thanks, Eric! Are there any significant limestone mining operations on or along the NS? I'm aware of a quarry on CSX near Mount Vernon, but nothing comes to mind on NS.

What typically makes up the rock layers in the CNOTP area? Are we talking limestone or something harder?

Thanks in advance!

General Discussion / Re: Norfolk Southern Hump Yard...

There have been reports that Inman Yard is "humping" or otherwise using gravitational switching by cutting cars off on the hump and sending them into one of several tracks for classification. Can anyone confirm if this gravitational switching is being used currently and for what traffic, i.e.: local traffic only, etc.?

NS M11 with Interstate 8105, with the Tower in the background. The tower is on its last few legs, as they will tear down the tower sometime this year.

The tower at Danville is still standing to this day, years later. Is the tower currently occupied/used, or is the yardmaster in Danville working out of the the old depot?

Forum Information and Support / Jreb Email
Last post by E. Hodgson - January 15, 2022, 11:34:04 AM
I have updated and corrected some email issues, I also enlarged email capacity to reflect ever growing attachments and media in email. If anyone has issues let me know. I will likely be moving email to a separate host in the future as the forum and web host are likely going self hosted on a dedicated fiber connection at my residence to hopefully alleviate hosting companies ever restrictive software, and constant uncontrolled updates breaking functionality of my many hosted sites.  I will update on any outage that occurs in email and post.

I have been working again on the forums, I made some updates and repairs try to login again and see hopefully it might be finally resolved. Its been slow going on the jreb front as other projects have been extremely time consuming.

Still not accepting me- your host must be very stingy with letting go of mod security

They are, and it appears most these days are this is hosted on a shared host, I have a dedicated box I have other sites hosted and at the time I didn't migrate this forum over because of bandwidth constraints that have since gone away I think as time allows I am going to migrate to my dedicated server which alleviates the mod security issue as I control the use of it over a host.

Sorry for the frustration give me some time to get my other projects sorted and I will start the move to the other box, share hosting has its place but apparently just not here any longer.
